Well, first things first. Last year, I had breast cancer, therefore a double mastectomy and reconstruction (and a second operation to remove the mrsa that the surgeons put in during the first operation), but need no further treatment, thank goodness
) I feel extremely lucky.
Therefore, this year I'm doing (note the word 'doing' rather than 'running'. Hehe...) the Flora London Marathon in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer, to give other women the chance of being as lucky as I am.
I've set up an online fundraising page, www.justgiving.com/nykiesrun which is doing really well, but I still need to do more. I'm planning on blasting the £2,000 target apart
)
I'm having a speed pool night and a catalogue show (both organised by friends, who've been great).
My training's not going quiiiiiite as well, since I only had my anti-bug operation about three months ago and I'm still in a fair amount of pain. But it's getting there, and I'm playing squash tomorrow as a bit of cross training, so we'll see how that goes ;o)
If anybody's stumbled across this site, the please check out www.justgiving.com/nykiesrun and please donate. Also feel free to tell everyone you know about my trials and tribulations ;o)

I have the greatest admiration for people like yourself who have had cancer and then do something like this to help others.
I wish you well both with the fundraising and the run itself.
Keep posting entries and also comment on other blogs so that people will come back to yours. Both will perhaps help generate interest and donations. Talking of which I'll follow your progress here and happily make a donation afterwards.
I'll also mention this blog, and link to it, in an entry of mine sometime soon. I'll let you know when I've done it.
Have a good weekend.
